How do I set a default path weight?

I usually work with larger Illustrator works, and every time I start a new path, it defaults to a weight of 1, which is very skinny. Is there a way to change this size to be larger?

You can change the Default Graphic Style by replacing it with one with a thicker stroke.

To create new documents with that style, you may want to save a template document or a New Document Profile.
