How not to Join the paths (pen tool)

I don't think I can come up with a better title.

I have a very prescient question:

1. path A - already drawn
2. path B - drawing (same layer, using pen tool)

How to end path B on the anchor point in path A, without joining it.

Is there a modifier key?

I saw some trick with pressing the spacebar, but I only managed to do it once,
I have the impression that wacom is incompatible with this trick.

Locking, using other layers, or isolate-mode is not what I'm asking about.

(If there is no such function maybe it could be suggested?)

Thank you

ok, though, the spacebar trick works.

You have to put a point next to the target anchor point, don't let go, press the spacebar and move the point to the target location.

I think I would prefer a regular modifier-key 🙂
