I'm trying to make something similar to this but can seem to figure out how this was made.
I've tried to inspect each component but it just puzzles me.
Can anyone help?
I have attached the illustrator file

It looks like two paths that could be outlined compound paths filled with a gradient. It has a drop shadow that could be an effect or a duplicate object. What part is giving you trouble?

When you break it up. I don't know how the 2 items on the left were made - top image below.
They are paths with black fill. 75% opacity.

Select one of the parts and show the appearance panel. Or share the file?

i saved it as a pdf as it wasn't letting me upload as an AI file.

It's not possible to determine how it was constructed from the PDF as it was either saved without Illustrator Editing Capability enabled or created in a different application, so the bevel is rasterised.
Can you share the AI file via an external file sharing service?

This has the same construction as the PDF. It's clipping paths around an image used as an opacity mask. The image is creating the bevel. There is no way to determine from this how that image was made.
