How to align a group of symbols on the same route of a pathway

Hi,

I'd like to align a group of symbols as on the 3rd part of the image. But I keep ending up like on the 2nd.

I prefer them to be a little stretched when the path curves...

Not sure what you are asking. As per your images the brush segment was not created at a neutral horizontal/ vertical angle and thus AI is not doing anything wrong. You just need to fix the orientation and re-create the brush.
