How to get vector in illustrator?

Hey! I'm really new to illustrator, and i needed to ask how do we get the vector graphics in illustrator? i'm trying to use it but the edges arent smooth at all.

Do you have some sort of stroke style or brush applied to your shapes?

That looks like a problem with GPU Performance. Click on the rocket ship in the Illustrator Menu bar and uncheck the option for this feature in the dialog box that appears.
