Hi,

Can somebody please tell me how to turn off snap to pixel by default, so I don't have to turn it off everytime I start a new project.

Current solution is to just use View>snap to pixel, but this only lasts for that one project, if I start a new project, even in the same session, the new document will have snap to pixel turned on - which is very irritating. I didn't have this issue with previous versions. I am using 2020.

Cheers!

Either use a different New document profile or edit the New document profile you use.

Don't base your documents on a Web profile.

Here's another solution if you want a "permanent" solution you can edit the Web.ai document inside the New Document Profiles.

  • Open the file, turn off the  "Align art to pixel grid...", save the file.
  • Close Illustrator.
  • Then each document based on that profile will have the Align to Pixel off.

New Document Profiles Locations are (for Illustrator 2020)
Mac: Macintosh HD/Users/“USERNAME"/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator 24/en_US/New Document Profiles
Windows: C:\Users\"USERNAME"\
