I rec .hpg files from a cad system.

How can i open them in illustrator

Searching a bit more on this it seems that hpg files are not natively supported by AI. I found an online service that claims to do the conversion, link given below

Someone more knowledgeable on the matter could guide us if there is a better way for the conversion, share some more tools, any caveats or tell us if we are on the wrong track

Ask your CAD people to export AI files, DWG, DXF, SVG. No need trying to solve this issue on the wrong end.
