The "Object selection by path only" option is unchecked. But I still can't select objects unless I clicked its path
Is this Adobe Illustrator you're using, if so I move the thread to the correct forum
Can you show a screenshot of the object you're trying to select?
You mean objects with a stroke only? That's normal Illustrator behaviour.
Nope, I can select an object by clicking anywhere if it's a color filled object, or has a really thick stroke. I can't select objects otherwise unless I clicked their path. Like the objects I've attached, I only can select them by clicking their path or for the type, only bottom.
What about this option?
As I've already told in my first message , It's unchecked... 😞 That's the problem
You mentioned 'Object Selection by Path Only'. This is a separate option.
Thanks for reaching out. Please share version of OS and Illustrator. Also, is it happening with a specific file or all the files?
I'd recommend resetting the preferences once. Follow instructions on the help article https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html#setting_illustrator_preferences
Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.
Let us know how it goes.
I have the same problem 😞 How I can resolve it?
Can you check out the object in the Layers panel - is iot perhaps a clipping path? Or clipping mask?
