I cant save high res files in anything other than PDF format

Hey team, im terrible with illustrator but im trying to learn. Every time ive tried to save files in any other format than PDF, they always come out low resolution. This has been sufficient untill now but i want to do things the proper way and i cant work out what im doing wrong. Yes ive tried playing with all the settings to no avail.

Could you please describe that "low resolution" problem? Maybe post screenshots?

What are the dimensions of the file?

What kind of file are you exporting, with what settings?

How are you viewing the resulting exported file (with what software)?

Are you viewing the exported file at 100% size, or zoomed in?

Are you aware of the limitations of exported raster files and what to expect from them?

What will this file be used for? Print/web/screen use?
