I like the old way - complex gradient applied when I click

I have a document with several items filled with complex blends. If I make a new shape and click the blend tool, one of the complex blends is applied. Then I have to spend time deleting all the points and coloiurs across the blend so I can make a new one.

In the past clicking with the blend tool just applied a very simple black to white gradient which was then easy to edit. How can I get back to this? I want an easy way to start a new blend from the basic black to white grad.

You can always load the Default Swatches and click the White Black gradient (which would be already there unless you deleted it).

You can always cmd-click (Win: Ctrl-click) the gradient symbol at the bottom of the tool panel to get a simple gradient. Even if there is no blackwhite one in the swatches.

That is even better and proof that you never get too old to learn.
