Illustrator 2020 freezes Windows 10 / MS Surface Book 2

Hey there,

since the last 3 versions (or more) my experience with Adobe CC programs, especially Illustrator is getting worse and worse.

When I work with Illustrator there is a 90% chance that my MS Surface Book 2 with Windows 10 64-bit freezes completely. Out. of. nowhere. The only thing I can do then is a hard reset (power button shutdown).

I did try the usual "solution": uninstall everything, delete all prefs, cleanup tool, reinstall all, all updates, etc. Either the problem returned after some days or latest with an app update.

The freezing happens nearly always in AI, sometimes with PS, I think never with Indesign.

Any ideas?

I'm having the same problems. My PC sits in "Not responding" for like 5 minutes or more sometimes opening a file and then it seems to work.

I think I am not that lucky. I once left my computer running overnight. Never came back. I suspect it has something to do with the graphics card. Just a guess.

I never had those freezes with any other program (cinema, games, office, media). Only with Adobe programs 😕
