Ever since I have upgraded to the 2022 version, I have noticed that my copy function is terribly slow. I used to be able to copy and paste basically immediately, but now I have to wait for quite a while as it copies any object. This is the first time I remember getting a spinning wheel when copying something other than a very large vector object. What could be going on?
My system is an HPZ4 Workstation with a 4.0 Ghz Xeon processor, 32GB ram, Win 10, Nvidia Quadro P2000.
Sorry to hear about the experience. I would request you to please share a few more details like:
Confirm the OS Build, OS version & exact version of Illustrator
Is the happening while working on a specific document? If yes, could you please share the document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud or dropbox and share the download link.
Where are you saving the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, plugins, or web extensions installed recently.
Is there any clipboard app installed on your Windows 10?
Does resetting Illustrator Preferences ( https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html) help to resolve the issue? Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.
