I'm building large gang sheets in illustrator (22.5 inches x 240 inches), exporting them to png (300 dpi, type optomized hinted) but when opening these files in photoshop or another application, even illustrator, they are only 2.1933 inches X 23.3196. Putting the pngs back to the original size makes them pixelated. I do the exact same sequence in Illustrator 2024 and have no issues at all. I've searched the documentation for any information but I can't seem to find any setting that would affect this. Any ideas or suggestions?

That sound like you are working on a Large Canvas Document which has some limitations.
When you create an artboard size larger than 227 inches (default canvas size) it becomes automatically a Large Canvas Document.

You cannot change that afterwards.
Copy your artwork and paste it in to a new (smaller document).

Thank you for your response. I don't see anything in the documentation that changes the size of the document when exporting. It states that PNG is a valid format for export, so I would assume this should work? I just want the artowrk to remain 22.5x240 inches in PNG format. Again, this works with no issue in Illustrator 2024 which also makes the document a large size canvas as shown in the screen shot below.

I just tried it, Export As... indeed reduces the resolution without telling (it changes the number of pixels but shows the resolution as 300 ppi), but Export for Screens seems to work.

Interesting. I have never used Export for Screens. I'll give that a shot. Thanks!
