I regularly save .ai files in a legacy formet (cs/3) because I need to use them on an older machine.
After automatically updating two days ago to Illustrator 28.6, cs/3 files all give an error when being opened by the CS/3 system.
Specifically, an out of memory error.
Reverting to Illustrator 28.5 bypasses the issue as the files open correctly on CS/3, but this is untenable longer term as it would prevent any future updates to my subscription illustrator.
Anyone else find this? What changes occured to 28.6 legacy file saving?
Anyone that can help, please advise.
Thank you

Hello @patl51114431,
We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind sharing some more details, like whether Illustrator behaves this way with all files, a public link to sample Ai files saved from version 28.5/28.6 after uploading them to Dropbox/Google Drive/etc., and screenshots of the settings used and the error message, so we can investigate this further?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Anubhav

I spent 70 minutes on the phone with CS yesterday describing and documenting
this issue.
It is being looked at for a resolution under ticket ADB-35623898-D6Q7
