Illustrator 30.1 - macOS 26.2 | Crash on Launch

Community Beginner ,
Jan 10, 2026 Jan 10, 2026

Hello,
When I open Illustrator it gets stuck and it becomes unresponding, not opening until multiple tries. When I manage to open it, working with files is nearly impossible, with constant crashes when saving and/or opening. Attached is a crash report in case it's useful to help debug the problem.

Thank you!

@Rita36252909f8l3 was it working before the update? If so, it might be corrupted preferences. The easiest set-up is going through the Ilsutartor Preferences Interface.

Go to Preferences
Mac: Command K
PC: Control K

Then click the Reset Preferences button at the bottom of the window. Click OK on the confirmation popup. Restart Illustrator for the changes to take effect.

Did you update all the drivers for external devices? Such as a Wacom?

Did you check your fonts recently?

Thank you for your answer.

I've done that and it helped for a few hours, but then everything goes back to the way it was.

I'll send the crash report.

Thank you again!
