Illustrator Crashing on Lauch & Save

Hello, ever since the last illustrator update, Illustrator is giving me a lot of trouble.
When I open the program, it looks like it's going to be fine, but then if I click anywhere to create a new file or open an existing one, it will most likely freeze and become unresponsive. Then, when it sometimes manages to come back, I might be able to work but then if I try to save, unresponsive again. And I lose everything. It's weird because I never-ever have problems with Adobe products. Photoshop, on the same computer, for examples, works just fine.

Things I've tried and obviously didn't work:
- Deleting preferences, through illustrator and manually
- Uninstalling and re-installing many times illustrator (yes with restarts and shutdowns in between)
- Updating the drivers of my computer
- Creating new and trying to modify older files to see if it was a file problem

Please help me, because I don't have any other ideas here...

Thank you

Hello @pierrev47785362,

Sorry to hear about this experience. I would request you try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows) or the root user account (macOS) and check if it helps.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Check the printer and its driver.

Printer should be running.

If you don't have a printer , set up a PDF printer as your default printer.
