Illustrator Creating Notepad Error Messages After Saving Files

Hello!

I've started recieving Notepad error messages from Illustrator after I save a file. The last two days it has created a notepad and filled it with eight lines of:

12:56:45:492 [WARN] Request Failed. ErrorCode: 112007 errorMessage: Platform Status, Send Request Failed. WinHTTP Name Not Resolved. last error code = 12007

after every time a file is saved. Not entirely sure what the problem is, looked around and only found a recent Japanese post with the same issue. From what I can decyper it's possibly some sort of network/cloud desyn issue? Not entirely sure. It doesn't seem to be causing any other issues and the files I save haven't been corrupted or anything. Curious to see if anyone has the same problem or a possible solution, since the notepad docs are already annoying.

Hi @joeyv80374591,

since I had the same problem, but with Photoshop: Do you maybe use a network-wide adblocker, like Pi-hole or Adguard Home?

Because on my end, it turned out that the blocking of this URL caused these error files to be created:

cc-api-data.adobe.io

Whitelisting it solved this issue, at least for me.

Cheers,
Daniel

Try and install the legacy .NET 3.5 runtimes. Microsoft recently changed a ton of things in the HTTP client and this may conflict with apps that haven't been updated accordingly, though it's rather random. Allowing the old stuff back onboard may make the issue disappear.

Thanks for the suggestion, went ahead and installed 3.5 and set it up per Microsoft's directions. Unfortunately, doesn't seem to have worked as it still created a gude txt file and added lines for every saved file. Might have to just wait for an update on Adobe's end, if that's to blame.

Hi @joeyv80374591,

Sorry for the trouble. I checked with the product team, and they have requested the following details:

  • Please confirm the exact version of Illustrator & Windows
  • Are you saving the file on the cloud/ server or saving it locally on your Dekstop.
  • A small screen recording demonstrating the issue would be really helpful.
  • Please upload the file on Creative Cloud and share the download link to the file with which the issue is reproducible.

We will be looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini

Thanks for the response. I have DM'ed a screen capture of the recording and the link to the file.

As for the other information, my Illustrator version is the most recent, 26.3.1. Windows is Windows 10, version 10.0.19043. Not saving online, just saving it to desktop.

Thanks again for the response.

Thanks for sharing the details, @joeyv80374591. I forwarded the screen recording and the file to the product team. Are you using the network adblocker or firewall app or any internet antivirus or security apps that may block the Adobe apps or services as suggested by @scharmach? If yes, please whitelist all the network endpoints in the attached txt file and let us know if that helps or not.

Regards,

Anshul Saini

Thanks for the list! I've whitelisted just

cc-api-data.adobe.io

for now, and that seems to have fixed it. If it comes back I'll be sure to run down the list and add more. But for now, just the one seems to have done it.

Thanks again for the help!

Hello @Ciro Bohorquez,

Thanks for reaching out. Are you trying to add Illustrator as an exclusion in an antivirus software? If yes, kindly try this (https://adobe.ly/48iERan) for Windows Defender and others (Sophos / Norton / McAfee) to check if they help?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
