Happy Friday,
I hope everyone's had a good week!
In short, I've had this issue since Illustrator 2022, and the only way I can think to describe the issue is that the cursor in Illustrator is not reacting appropriately: For years I could just grab the corner of a shape to scale or transform it, now when I do that it will randomly rotate it. Sometimes when I go to rotate, it will scale and transform. With the addition of rounding corners/edges, when I go to round a corner, it might rotate or scale/transform the shape instead.
I've had this issue consistently across three devices, multiple operating systems, and have done clean installs for several reasons in the past. I've never had this issue prior to a random update on Ilustrator 2022, and it has now carried over into Illustrator 2023.
There's a video for reference! Sometimes Illustrator will not let me rotate a specific shape or object at all, unless I edit it manually from the Properties > Transform menu. Other times it won't let me scale/transform by dragging a corner, regardless of what I do, and so I have to scale it manually from the Properties > Transform menu as well. Sometimes a simple restart will fix it, sometimes just recreating the shape will fix it as well, but this is getting to be a bit tedious.
Is there a workaround for this? Is Adobe planning on fixing this sooner than later? Any tips/tricks? Anything is appreciated!
