illustrator does not package Chinese fonts

Does anyone know why illustrator does not package Asian/Chinese fonts? Is there a fix for this?

I used to use the app Artfiles. But it no longer support the new Apple silicon Mac.

Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble. Could you please confirm the exact version of macOS & Illustrator? Also, would it be possible for you to share the fonts with us? You can upload them to Creative Cloud/ Dropbox/ Google Drive and share the download link here or via DM. We'll check it at our end.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini

I'm having the same issue.

Packaging an illustrator.ai file for a client and the included, non expanded Chinese font is missing from the package. I switched to a few different fonts and eventually tried one installed from the Adobe fonts - Hellofont ID QingHuaLi - and it still didn't work.  If I can't package, is there another way to get the adobe font file?

Thanks for your time in advance.

Chinese fonts do not get packaged, as can be read in the documentation: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/package-files.html

Adobe Fonts cannot be packaged either (none of them, not just Chinese). The recipient can synchronized them in their system.

Thank you for your response. Synchronized?  as in, recipient can just add the font from the adobe site on their end?

Yes, exactly.

Recipients of your AI files need to have an active subscription in order to even open the files. And since they have that, they can also use the Adobe Fonts.
