I am opening a file in Illustrator with dimensions of 600x600 px and 300 dpi. In Effect -> Document Raster Effect Settings, it shows 300 dpi. The Document Page Setup also indicates high resolution. When I export as a JPG at 300 dpi without adding any images or text, the resulting JPG has a width of 2500 pixels and a height of 2500 pixels. However, my file is 600 pixels. How can I resolve this? I want it to remain 600 pixels during export. My computer is a MacBook Pro running macOS Sonoma 14.6.1.
Use 72 ppi (1x) during export.
A higher resolution will add more pixels.
Illustrator is resolution independend, the settings you mention are used for calculating raster effects.

Thank you for your response. When I use 72 ppi, the text quality of the two names in 9-point font becomes distorted. When I increase the resolution, it looks better, but it also increases the dimensions of the file. I tried converting the text to outlines and used type optimization, but I couldn't fix it. I have to use high resolution to maintain the quality of these two names. The other text in the project looks fine; only these two words are problematic. Thanks.

There are just not enough pixels at 72 ppi to render good quality 9 pt type.
Just turn on Pixel Preview to judge the quality.

72 ppi screens are not used very much anymore. You may want to use the 2x (144 ppi) option in export for screens to come closer to what you see in Illustrator.

And if the text is important vs the graphics, use Type Optimized anti-aliasing during export.

When I use 144 ppi or higher, the file size changes, but the required size is 600x600 pixels. For the text (9 pt), I have tried both 'Type Optimized' and 'Create Outline'. Thank you for your interest and responses.

As Ton already wrote: in that case the design is not suitable for the size.

The other texts look clean, but only the two names appear poorly, and they are 9 pt. I have tried 'Create Outline' and 'Type Optimized'. What else can I try?

I don't see anything.

I would like to see something too, if you don't want to publish the names, just replace them by some random characters.

Thank you very much :))
