Illustrator freezes when saving to my desktop

I can only save my documents to the adobe cloud when I try to save my documents to my computer it freezes. I'm on an entirely new macbook pro - is this some unknown/new bug issue? I'm also using an external hard drive so this is not a matter of storage. I have tried uninstalling the program, resetting my laptop and the same issue reoccurs.

What exact MBP? Also provide soem crash info from your system log viewer.
