After Illustrator launches it seems to be active, I am able to click on projects to open and use the dropdown etc. but as soon as I open a project (new or exisitng) it freezes up completely and I have to end the process to close it, i.e. I can't click on anything.
I have updated, uninstalled and reinstalled the application to no avail.

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with the defaults. You may take a backup of these settings from the location mentioned in the article.
