Hello!
So far I am enjoying the new update in Illustrator, however I am running into an issue with the image trace tool. When I trace a design to be black and white it automatically ignores all white and when I switch this off it doesn't fill the white spaces in again, it leaves it out still. I know I can cut out the shapes I need using other tools, but I don't want to have to do that for time sake. Are there any suggestions to getting this to work?
I seem to have corrected my problem, I had created a preset in the trace panel and it was automatically ignoring all white even though I had it switched off. I created a new preset with this option off and it no longer excludes it, I believe it was just an issue with the one preset.

Lydia,
"So far I am enjoying the new update in Illustrator,"
I am afraid you will enjoy the Image Trace in earlier versions more.
Here is the latest (before yours) of reports on different issues, along with the clear answer by Monika:

I am having the same problem but can't fix it. Illustrators Image Trace is pale in comparison to Inkscapes.

Ripper Studios,
I believe yours is a completely different issue, and that you will attract more attention to it if you start a new post, preferably with screenshots to show it made with the Insert Photos button (moon over mountains).
