Illustrator is acting up again...

So, Illustrator is acting up like an idiot again, for reasons that only Zeus knows.
When trying to create a new file, instead of the usual dialog box with all the options and settings, this is what I get:

Screenshot 2025-10-22 at 12.08.22.png

A blank box, with nothing else to to but close.
I've done the usual. Quit and ReOpen, reboot the machine... Nothing.
I'm running a brand new iMac, the app is fully up to date.
I just want to know if this is a known issue with any simple solution before uninstalling and installing again (which seems to be the only solution to Adobe apps these days).
Anyone?

Nevermind... For some reason the app decided to scrub all recent document formats and changing the tab showed me the options for a new doc.
I've been using this thing for over 20 years and still get a curve ball in the head every once in while.
