Illustrator is making two copies instead of one when I option drag

Illustrator (29.1) is making two copies rather than one when I option drag a single symbol and any number of non symbols together.

As far as I can tell all other combinations of selected objects work as normal .

This is seriously messing up my workflow so any help in fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Do you possibly have Magnet installed in your system?

Thanks fro the reply, I've not come across Magnet before so I've not deliberately installed it and the system was brand new a couple of weeks ago so it's unlikely to be something that's a remnant from an old install.

Slight update, the issue is inconsistent, some times it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind confirming the version of the OS installed on your computer and if you have any third-party plugins or clipboard managers enabled so I can better assist you? Also, try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.

Hi,

I'm on a M4 mac running running Sequoia 15.1.1 . Illustrator is version 29.1 and I've the full astute graphics set of plugins installed which is up to date as of 29th Nov. No clipboard managers.

There were no plugins or effects directly in use for either the symbols or artwork involved with this bug, artwork was basic lines and fills.

The issue has happened on two seperate occasions (days apart) and on different drawings but hasn't happened since I posted my question yesterday. I tried just now to recreate the error but on this occasion everything worked as it should. If/when it happens again I'll add any additional observations to this conversation.
