Hi all,

I recently tried to set up file sharing between myself and another mac. I have since reverted these settings and now whenever i try to overwrite an Illustrator file, as in save an updated document I get the error message in the attached document.

  • Illustrator version in attached screenshot.
  • Was working fine before I attempted to set up file sharing.
  • Illustrator alows me to create a new document and save to desktop.
  • There are no linked assets in the illustrator files.
  • Tried resetting Illustrator preferences but didn't work.

I've tried posting this with an Illustrator file attached. Received thh attached error, not sure if this helps find an answer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please embed screenshots in your post. They take ages to load unfortunately.

Illustrator unfortunately has issues saving to synchronized folders for some users. You can try if turning off "Save in background" and/or "Optimize saving to networks" in the preferences helps.

Saving local first and copying the saved result to a shared folder (overwriting the previous one) is a safe way to avoid problems.

I think the way CC files can be synched are an easy way to share between computers, see

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/sync-files.html

and they are also versioned for a while:
