I am hoping that someone can help me with this issue:
When working in Adobe Illustrator, the programme stops responding and has to be closed with Task Manager otherwise it just stays frozen (this happens with basic functions like changing the direction of a gradient). Upon checking the Windows error reporting this is the message that has been noted: The program illustrator.exe version 26.2.1.197 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. Adobe Photoshop and InDesign do not seem to have any problems, only Adobe Illustrator.
This is highly frustrating. Could someone please advise?
The PC meets all spec requirements i.e. x64-based PC, 32GB RAM, GPU is AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series.
I am sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the experience we want you to have. I would like to know if you have tried resetting the preferences (Windows / Mac)?
If that doesn't help, would you mind confirming if you are working with files that are saved on Network Drive/ Server, Shared Folder, or External HDD) when freezing happens? Does this happen while working on some specific file or after performing particular action?
Also, I would recommend you update

Also, I would recommend you update your Illustrator to v26.3.1, OS & GPU Driver.
We are here to help. We just need more info.
