illustrator limit colors not working

So image trace in my illustrator just decided it doesnt want to limit colors anymore and instead treats everything, despites the settings, to a high def foto trace. in some cases it does not even want to do color anymore, instead just tracing in b/w. is this a known issue and is there a fix? my work is mainly using image trace so this would basically render all of adobe useless for me as its the base of my work

I am glad to inform you that the issue is resolved with the Ai v27.1.1 released recently. Please update the app and let us know if the issue persists.
