THat just means you can't use GPU acceleration. The whole thing will be a little slower.

The system I have is the macOS Sierra version 10.12.6 (2011). I would prefer the latest version but if it can work with a other one, I don't mind the version. (Adobe Illustrator CC)

Graphic card, RAM etc? (please compare the link I posted above)

In that case the latest version should run on your Macbook.

I have it running on a 2014 Macbook with Sierra.

Memory 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics intel HD Graphics 3000

So if I understand, the graphic requirement doesn't work...
