Illustrator Problem that google don't have a solution for.

I AM UPLOADING AN IMAGE INTO ILLUSTRATOR

AND I CAN NOT TURN THE IMAGE INTO GREYSCALE.

I TRIED RESETTING THE PREFERENCES. DOESNT HELP.

I KNOW THAT I DID THIS EARLIER ON A OTHER PC.

MY EDIT COLORS ARE ALL GREY

But I fixed it.

When you place an image in an Illustrator file, untick 'Link' in the file browser window.

But it would be better to learn the difference between linked and embedded images and when it is appropriate to use one or the other, rather than wishing one away.
