Illustrator shape tools (elipsis, square, etc) automatically multiply (MacOS Monterey - M1 Max)

I want to create and size a shape (circle, square, etc.) and it multiplies in the direction I am sizing. It is almost as if it is doing a multiple-step blend. If I only click once and add size it will only create one shape, but selecting the tool and manually sizing w/ click and drag is giving me this error. Screen Shot 2022-03-20 at 7.32.20 PM.pngScreen Shot 2022-03-20 at 7.32.31 PM.png

It normally does this when the tilde (~) key is pressed (or stuck).

Hm, but in this case, it is not. Do you know if there is a setting that might be turned on?

I don't know of another way to reproduce it.

I have a QWERTY keyboard with Dutch as language, it maybe different with other languages/keyboards.

There is no setting, only the keystroke.

Probably some other application is interfering or Illustrator's preferences are corrupt. You can try and reboot the computer, then launch only Illustrator, not even your browser and try again.

If it still does not work, try and close Illustrator, then rename its preferences folder and then try again.

Yes, it might've been a glitch on the software itself - I went ahead and uninstalled and cleaned - re-installed, and it works. Thanks!
