Illustrator struggles to open one (small-ish) file

New Here ,
Mar 21, 2025 Mar 21, 2025

I'm currently running Adobe Illustrator 2025 on a MacBook Pro using OS Ventura 13.2.1. As of today, Illustrator immediately freezes for upwards of 8 minutes and starts running over 100% of CPU when trying to open a 33.2MB file. It's not remotely the largest file I have (I have files over 8GB that load just fine) has no linked or embedded files, and I haven't made any changes to the file before thie started happening yesterday, but it's the only file that does this. I restarted Illustrator and restarted my computer and this hasn't made it stop. Any ideas?

Hello @defaultmygsgvj0w6ik,

Could you try moving the file to a different folder if it's on a removable/network drive or a cloud-synced folder like Dropbox/iCloud to see if it helps? If the problem persists, kindly share a link to the file here or via DM after uploading it to a file-sharing service so I can check it on my end.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
