I'm having trouble printing at high resolution from Illustrator.
I cannot print at the 600dpi x 600dpi maximum output resolution of my HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw. If I take the same file, save it as a pdf, and print it from Acrobat, the output is higher resolution. Likewise, if I export the art at 600ppi to a PNG file and print from Photoshop the output is also higher resoltuon. The image below shows the issue. System info also below.
I tried to attach both files I printed to create the image below but the website won't allow me to post the .ai file, giving the error "The attachment's illustratorpoorprintquality.ai content type (application/postscript) does not match its file extension and has been removed." No idea what that is about. I didn't change anything in a fresh install of AI before saving the file with the default options.
I've investigated every setting I can inside Illustrator to no avail. The "Printer Resolution" box in the Output section of the print dialog is greyed out so I can't change it.
Any sugggestions as to where to go from here would be greatly appreciated.
Tom
