Illustrator will not resave an edited pdf with the same name.

Multiple calls to Adobe. Trying to resave an edited pdf with the same name...the edited pdf's get message: "Can't save the illustration. The file may be read only, or the file is in use by another application, or you do not have the required permissions. Please save the document with a different name, or in a different folder or directory. ID -54

This started about 10 days ago and is very annoying. Have updated AI which didn't affect.Multiple phone calls. Any ideas?

Add a 2 to the file name, delete the old file, delete the 2 in the new file name...

You should have to, but it's easy and quick...

That's what I've been doing for the past 10 days ago since this started...it's kind of annoying. Why do they do things like this?
