WHY OH WHY do you Adobe Illustrator guys reset our workspaces ALL THE TIME when updating???

It is VERY annoying to setup the workspace again-again-again-again-again-again after an update.

PLEASE fix this. It's a waste of my time!

Thank you.

Oh yeah... and delete EVERY shortcut key I have made.
PLUSS... removing the "latest job I was on" screen and history.

Under Window > Workspace > Manage Workspace you can save your settings.
Also there's a settings export under Edit > Settings > Export Settings

I know. But after an update I can't find the workspaces anymore.

And the update is resetting everything as well. It's very annoying

Hello @snorrid12353140,

I understand that dealing with workspace resets after updates can be frustrating. Doug and JulieBee have provided helpful suggestions for managing workspaces and saving settings.

Additionally, before performing an update, you might want to manually back up your preferences to avoid any unexpected changes. We have a guide on troubleshooting preference issues, including steps on how to back up and restore preferences. You can find it here: Troubleshoot preference issues | Illustrator (https://adobe.ly/49jXE62).

I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to let me know.

Best,

Anshul Saini

But why? You have my profile when I log in.
Make a cache on the profile, and don't reset the settings when updating.
Easy.

Do you have 'import previous settings and preferences' selected when updating?

There is an option in the CC app to maintain previous settings when updating. I've had the same workspace and keyboard shortcuts since 2020, for example.
