Illustrators CC 2019 messing with unselected grads -unusable - ruining work!

Whats going on with Illustrators 2019 upgrade? Its messing with unselected gradients and ruining complex illustrations. I'll be working on a separate element and go back to the main artwork to find all of the grads are messed up. Its destroying my workflow!

Thanks for your reply - my operating system is Majave 10.14.1, running on a late 2015 27" iMac. I'm running the latest version of Illustrator CC (2019) and its since this update that I'm having trouble with gradients.

If I'm working on a complex document with multiple grads in it, adjusting one grad seems to also alter unselected grads (if they are the same colours) It doesn't happen every time but when it does it can cause chaos within a document.
