When I try to trace an image, I get this error message, and then the image disappears:

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator, and restarting my computer, but still getting this message.

I'm using v27.3.1 on a Mac (Catalina).

Any suggestions?

Remove any channels or spot colors and embed the image.

How many Mb is the image? Try another simple image to we know if it is the image or application/prefs.
