Image trace on Illustrator

The image trace option in the previous version of Illustrator was far better than the newer version

Pixel perfect tracing is completely removed while ago. That is sad.

There has never been pixel perfect autotrace.

Or are you referring to the Object mosaic? That is still there. Object > Create object mosaic. Works only with small images. Large ones will most likely crash Illustrator.
