Image Trace window collapsing after clicking Advanced - Illustrator 27.6.1

Hi there
I've just updated Illustrator to 27.6.1.

I work on a iMac Pro 2017:
Processor 3.2 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon W
Graphics Radeon Pro Vega 56 8GB
Memory 32 GB 2666 MHz DDR4
macOS Ventura 13.4

This is an issue I've had previously where my Image Trace panel would collapse everytime I clicked Advanced.  The only way I could use the tools in this panel would be to drag it out from my other panels. Putting it back would just continue the same issue.  (see attachments)

It's happening again since I updated to the latest version of Illustrator - 27.6.1

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Adam

I am having the same exact problem. Thanks for the tip, I could not get the tool to work at all until I took your advice and dragged it out of the panel. Then it does function. I just upgraded to version 27.6.1 and went back to version 27.5 and then the tool worked the way it always did. I am running Windows 10 Enterprise Version 22H2 OS Build 19045.2965. Intel Core i5-10310U CPU @ 1.70GHz 2.21GHz RAM 16.0 GB. It also does the same thing on my Windows 11 computer.

Image Trace won't open at all from the docked palette. You have to open it directily from the pull down memu every time you want to use it. This is the worst udate ever to this tool. The functions are no longer intuitive and don't do as good a job as the previous version. I wish I could go back to the earlier version. This is a serious hickup to my workfolow.... Are you listenening Adobe! Fix this fast, as I grow more irritated by the moment using this POS!

Thank you for your feedback. Kindly elaborate your concern for us to understand better.
Also, please mention the Ai version you had been using previously. In addition, you can upload reference images where you feel that the functions don't do as good a job as the previous version.
This will help us to get the right fixes done.

In version 27.5 the Image Trace worked from the dock. Now I have to move it out of the dock to get it to work and I think it did a slightly better job on converting jpg and png files to vector images than this new 27.6.1 version. The attached file used to trace fine in older version. Now it messes up. See attached files.
