Bonjour,
Merci d'avance !
Léa.
Hi @Neelen,
I’m glad to hear that the PDF worked for you! Here’s what I did to resolve the issue:
I opened your file directly in Illustrator. Upon opening it, I received a dialog message about missing links and selected “Ignore All Links.” This allowed the file to open successfully. After that, I resaved the file as an AI file and simply changed the extension from ”.ai” to ”.pdf” to upload it here since the community platform doesn’t support direct uploads of ".ai" files.
There wasn’t anyt

Hello @Neelen,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing a link to a sample file after uploading it to a file-sharing service like Google Drive/Dropbox, so I can try and replicate this behavior on my end?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello @Anubhav M,
Here is the link : https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/4419w69uyt1lga7evqmoi/PORTRAIT_02.ai?rlkey=q26369e57fz0mt7tyreb7i5yo&...
The illustration with "Free gradient" is out the work plan, on the right.

Léa.

Hello @Neelen,
Thanks for sharing the file. I tried replicating this behavior on my end but could not. Would you mind checking if Illustrator behaves this way with new documents as well?
Also, kindly confirm the OS/Illustrator version, and share a screen recording of your exact workflow, so I can better assist you.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi @Anubhav M !
So did you succeed to open my file ? 😶
I tried to open another document / create a new (empty) file and everything is fine.
For Illustrator's version, I worked on the 29.0.1 (2025) and reinstalled the 28.7.1 (2024) and no one worked to open the file...
I'm on Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1.
About my workflow, I tried a personnal configuration and a "initial" one, but it doesn't work either... 😔 I send you a screenshot tomorrow.
Regards,
Lea.

Hi @Neelen,
Thank you for your patience! I recommend resetting your preferences to see if that resolves the issue. Please make sure to back up your preferences before doing this, as they will be lost in the process.
Also, try opening the attached PDF in Illustrator and see if that works. If the problem persists, you can try opening the file in Safe Mode to isolate any potential conflicts.
Let me know how it goes, and I’ll be here if you need further assistance!
Best regards,
Anshul Saini

There wasn’t anything unique or special about the process on my end. I’d recommend checking the location of your file’s links. Ensure that both the file and its links are in the same directory, as mismatched file paths could be causing the issue.
If this doesn’t fully resolve your problem or new challenges arise, let me know—I’ll be happy to assist further!
Best regards,
