Issue with Illustrator 2026 Startup on PC

Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing a display issue when I launch Illustrator 2026 on my PC (not on a Mac). A strange window appears and I’m unable to create a new project. An error message shows up saying that an error has occurred.
I’ve already restarted my computer and even uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator, but the problem persists.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Thank you for getting in touch. It appears to be unusual. Could you please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined below?

Rename the CEP and UXP folders:

• Rename the CEP folder to CEP.old located at:

• Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe

• If that doesn't resolve the issue, rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from the following locations:

• Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\

• Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe

You may also consider resetting Illustrator Preferences. Check this video on the manual preference reset. 

If the above doesn't help, would you be willing to run the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to clean, uninstall, and reinstall Illustrator as described in this article?
