Issue with Tamil Font display

Hi All! 

I'm having an issue when using a Tamil font where there is a small circle with dots that appears in the middle of glpyh. This typeface is Akhand Tamil from Adobe fonts and when I enter the same line of text in the font preview for Adobe fonts it looks perfectly normal. However, when using illustrator it gives me this circle. I have already gone into the type settings and turned on "Show Indic Options" as well as changed the language to Tamil in the Characters panel. 

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution?

Same issue I am also facing for both Hindi and Tamil (don't know about other asian languages). The moment i paste a tamil word to illustator some alphabets disappear or are shown differently.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind trying to copy the text to a text editor and then copying from there to Illustrator to check if it helps?

Hi,

Inspite of copying from the text editor, it still shows missing characters. Do you know if there is anyway to resolve it?
Due to this issue, I have been shywing away from using Illustrator for bilingual designs and forced to use other softwares.

Hi,

I am having the same issue. The same text appears correctly in Figma but not in Illustrator. 
Just wondering if you were able to resolve it?
