The four southeasternmost lands of those once united in Kalmar; Steve is in one of the northwestern ones, (halfway) over there.

Where would that place me? Stockholm, Sweden.

Definitely here, (almost) no further from Kalmar than myself, and on the same side of the bridge.

Waether report: The snow chaos from the south coming our way by evening. Temperature has risen to -4.9C. But windy.

I see that you have the snow now, Nini. Will you catch up with the snow depth in Nordöstra Götaland?

Jacob,
I believe that this is the first reference I've ever encountered to the Kalmar Union. Sad to realize how absolutely missing from my schooling was the history of that part of the world. I should fix that.

Peter,
If you look into the subject you will see a striking similarity between two queens, each the first of her name, each with a namesake being present queen regnant, and each the daughter of an extraordinarily evil king.

No show.

A slight show here. Coldish, wettish, greyish. Difficult driving conditions up on the heath yesterday.

Lucky you, Steve.
Undoubtedly, Peter is luckier still, enjoying the daily show, maybe even showed in.

Not so much. Lots of cold and wind. All day yesterday we had a high-density of airborne white particles, but when things settled down there wasn't much to show for it. Off to my daughter's for turkey and beer.

Happy Turkey Day to everyone over there.

Thank you, Jacob. We had a wonderful gathering and a lot of laughs.

Now it's definitely here. Just finished putting snow tyres on the car. Forecast chilly. Birdies hungry.

Still no show.
Maybe two nights with dry frost a week from now, then thaw again, with more Scottish mist. No use for the studs yet.

It's still here since last time. Studs and frozen windscreens in the mornings. Blowing a gale right now.
Must've been some strong westerlies recently for Scottish mists to drift all the way over to Denmark.
Glad Yule everybody.

Several weeks of rain and wind down here at sea level, cold last night. Up the hill at my daughter's house, 6 miles away and 1800 ft. up, gobs and gobs of snow. So she says. I'll find out tomorrow.
Thanks, Steve, the same to you and everyone else.

Thank you, Steve and Peter.
Has either of you lit the Yule log?
1800 feet up is quite far away here.
Half an hour till midnight, no more joining in the shop today.

Has either of you lit the Yule log?
Nope. Ours is geothermal and therefore doesn't burn very well 🙂

Hydroelectric, here. Daughter and husband have a small glass-front wood stove, so perhaps they'll oblige us tomorrow. Now half and hour till midnight here as well.

Ah, I forgot your (present) lack of logs.
