Keep losing my work because of the software crashing!

Is anyone else having problems using illustrator, I'm sick of paying £50 to constantly lose all my hard work because illustrator decided to crash and shut down had enough of it now so behind with work because of it

Hello, thank you for your response:) No I haven't updated, just in general it's literally crashed twice in an hour.. I'll just being working and the colour mouse appears and the software crashes. I've lost all my work again It's so upsetting literally a whole day wasted 😞  maybe I need to update and that's the problem?? it's been doing this for about a month now.. a pop up appears and asks if I would like to report it and I have but...
