Keyboard shortcut Question

I've made a custom keyboard shortcut set in illustrator, but every time I close and reopen illustrator, it resets to the Illustrator Default Keyboard shortcut set. How can I force illustrator to always open with my shortcut set activated?

It does happen quite often yes.

When Illustrator crashes while saving, the preferences do not get written. 

You will need to first solve the crashing.

That's a bummer lol. So everything gets set back to default after a crash?

It's not "set back". It hasn't even been written in the first place. These things are written into the preferences. And the preferences only get saved when you quit.

Oh, I misunderstood then. The program doesn't always crash. The shortcut set has been saved. But sometimes it randomly switches back to the default set sometimes. Not sure why.

That could be corrupted preferences. If Illustrator crashes while writing them, they could still get corrupted. What you could do is rename the preferences folder. That way Illustrator will write new preferences. You can try if moving the kbsc file from the old folder to the new folder helps, but the kbsc file might be the one which is actually not really well anymore.

Thank you so much for your help, I appreciate it! Can keyboard shortcut sets and actions be saved on a workspace, so whenever I change the workspace, those also change?

No, they are not part of the workspace.
