Latest Illustrator 2022 26.01 keeps freezing

Spinning wheel appears and program freezes simply using the pen tool.

Same here! Especially bad when switching to Outline mode! Which is nonsense 😞
So far i tryed:
— reseting preferrences, updating folder access to read&write
— disabling dictation
— completely reinstalling IL with adobe clear tool
— Disabling GPU
— praying.
Illustrator 26.0.1, MacOs monterey, 12.0.1, MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019), Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB+Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB.

Sorry to hear about your experiences. I would request you to share a few more details like:

  • Does this happen while working on a specific document?
  • Could you please share a sample document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link.
  • Where are you saving the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
  • When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, plugins, or web extensions installed recently.
  • A small video demonstrating the issue could be really helpful.
  • Please check if turning off the Internet help resolve the issue?
  • Are you using TimeMachine? If yes, does disabling the TimeMachine help resolve the issue?

 

Also, you may try running the app in Safe Mode  (Mac) & Root/ Hidden Admin account (Mac) and share your observation with us.

So this is happening with any file. After a minute of having the file open, it asks if I want to save my file before quitting.

  • Where are you saving the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?  **computer Hard Drive
  • When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, plugins, or web extensions installed recently. **nothing changed until I tried to troubleshoot and uninstalled and reinstalled from CC. Even when no files are open, after a minute it closes with no notice.
  • A small video demonstrating the issue could be really helpful.  **not much to show. Please see my screen shot attachment. 
  • Please check if turning off the Internet help resolve the issue? **Don't see how to turn it off.
  • Are you using TimeMachine? If yes, does disabling the TimeMachine help resolve the issue? **Not using time machine.

 

Also, you may try running the app in Safe Mode  (Mac) & Root/ Hidden Admin account (Mac) and share your observation with us.  **Is there a PC safe mode?

Thanks for sharing the details. We have tried to address some issues in our latest Prerelease build, v26.0.2.

Please follow the instructions below to get this:
1. If you are not already part of the Illustrator Prerelease program, then please click this link to join the prerelease – https://www.adobeprerelease.com/beta/85A6F544-2705-49BD-8314-DD549C6A1713
2. Accept Prerelease Agreement
3. Go to Creative Cloud Desktop and look for Prerelease in the Apps section.
4. Install/Update to Illustrator Prerelease 26.0.2 from Creative Cloud Desktop Pre-Release Tab (This will not replace the existing installation of Release build of Illustrator)


Please let us know whether this issue is fixed for you in this prerelease build or not.

This build also contains fixes for stability & security.
