Line offset issue

I want to make curved lines to be used for "type on path" writing that repeat in parallel, one below the other. As in the attached PDF, I have a curved line (A) that I want to repeat as in example (C) but the Object > Path > Offset Path tool creates wrap around lines (B) that I need to Scissor the ends off manually.

Is there a way to simply offset a line in one direction only, with no wrap around?

It's possible using plugins.

Inside Illustrator this is how Offset path works.

You could try and duplicate the wave and move it down. Then create a blend between those 2 lines.

With the inbuilt tools you can:

1) Use the offset once, or any number of times repeatedly, then Deselect all (you can click an empty spot);

2) ClickDrag with the Direct Selection Tool across the (whole set of) end segment(s) at either side of the original path and then press Delete twice to remove them completely, then Deselect all;

3) Repeat 2) for the other end,

4) Switch to the normal Selection Tool and select all the unwanted paths on one side of the original path.

As I see it, (repeated) offset paths are fundamentally different to copy/copies made in whichever way.

There are (increasing) changes in the former, whereas the latter is identical to the original.

If you wish simple identity, you can also just move a copy the desired number of times, also as an effect (which can be expanded).
