Lines start out way too thick when at the smallest setting of 1 point or under

Am I the only one having this issue? In the past when I use the pen tool in adobe Illustrator the line thickness was strait foward and easy to use, but recently I have run into an issue where when I even create a shape or line in the app it shows up being gigantic and when I put it at the smallest of settting 0.25, 1 pt or lower it either disappears or it does not make to much of a difference. Is there somthing I could do about it?

Your zoom level is set to more than 7000 %.

Therfore it may be just normal behaviour. Am I overlooking something?

my zoom is at set level where you press the hand to twice and it takes you right back to the art board, this is how my pen and pecil tool puts things down
