I have a large poster I am making in Illustrator. It will contain a table that is 3 columns wide by 26 rows high. Each column will be a different width.

I was able to make a table with the rectangle tool with the correct number of columns and rows. But I cannot adjust the width of the columns.

If I use the grid tool. I can change the width of the columns. But cannot figure out how to change the number of row/columns.

I saw in previous post to use InDesign. I have not used that program before. Can I import to Illustrator and edit it in Illustrator?

You can create the table in InDesign, save as PDF and place it linked in Illustrator, you can update the PDF in InDesign but not edit it in Illustrator.

But you can also create 3 table items of different width in Illustrator.
