That's odd. Which version of MacOS are you using, and which version of Illustrator, please?
I am subscribed to Adobe creative suite with all latest updates on MAC OS

Sorry to hear about this experience. I would request you try changing the UI scaling settings in Illustrator to Small, change the Display Resolution and Scaling to the default under System Preferences, and then relaunch Illustrator to check if it helps.
